Medical sonographer career involves several different aspects. This type of work deals with the subtle aspects of sonography, along with technical qualification of sonographers, employment and job opportunities for sonographers. This may also include ethical and social responsibilities of medical sonographers.

Medical sonographer career deals with the commitments and responsibilities of all sonographers. Sonographers have to work with high frequency sound waves to diagnoses. The work of sonographers is quite challenging so they need education and training to perform their job better. The work of sonographers is to deal with sophisticated electronic equipments to collect reflected ultrasound waves to get human body images. Ultrasound technique is necessary to view internal organs such as fetuses in the womb, spectral tracings in blood vessels etc.

The medical sonographer career is quite demanding, it has been predicted that the employment of medical sonographers will expected to grow about 19 percent by 2016. This prediction is better than the job expectation of all occupations. It has found from the study that there is co relation between population growth and demand for medical imagery.

Medical sonographer career can offer great opportunities just as in other professions such as radiological procedures and other treatment methods. Sonography has advantages over other diagnosis techniques such as it does not involves any radiation, so harmful side effects of sonography procedure have been reduced. Medical sonographer career is expected to involve new advance diagnosis procedures such as three-dimensional and four-dimensional sonography techniques. Additionally there are some advanced technologies, which are needed to approve by federal government because they are costly and risky.

It has been from the study that in May 2006 the annual earning of diagnostic medical sonographers were 57,160 Dollars. Some middle sonographers have earned between 48,890 to 67,670 dollars. The average annual earning of sonographers were 56,970 dollars. This information is based on May 2006 statistics. Additionally the sonographers who worked in general medical and surgical hospitals have earned 56,850 dollars in the same period, therefore, medical sonographer career is quite challenging and lucrative.

Medical sonographer career is quite interesting. It may require knowledge of several other branches of medical science such as gynecologic sonography, which is used to analyze human reproductive system. Neuro-sonography is used to map brain images, breast-sonography, vascular sonography, cardiac sonography etc.
