Rash can normally occur on the inner thigh due to numerous reasons. The most common reason for a rash to occur is sweating. The rash is a small red lump. It is extremely painful and causes a lot of itching. There are different types of rash namely itchy rash, eczema, hives, hemorrhagic rash, leg rash, face rash, red spots, underarm rash and many other types of rash.

Causes of rash:

A rash may be caused due to different possibilities. Any kind of a rash requires quick investigation with the help of dermatologist or a skin specialist. Another cause of rash is illness or viruses like chicken pox. They may arise due to systemic conditions like lupus or by allergies such as hives or eczema. Other causes of rash also include parasites like lice in scabies or by reactions to chemicals. Rashes caused due to the meningococcal disease which is a not so common but the deadliest of all the rashes. Meningococcal disease is a characteristic of the hemorrhagic rash. The hemorrhagic rash is caused due to bleeding of capillaries present just below the skin. Any kind of hemorrhagic rash is a serious kind of emergency. Jock itch is another cause of the inner thigh rash. The rash is the major cause of a fungus known as T rubrum. It usually starts at the intersection of the groin and the thigh. It takes place on both the sides. If the rash is not properly treated then it may advance down the thigh.

Prevention and treatments:

Wearing loose fitting clothes can help greatly for preventing the rash to appear on the inner thigh. It is very important that the person suffering from the rash should not use other individual’s clothes, towels and washcloths. The patient should dry his or her groin completely after taking a bath or a shower. The use of antifungal powders or sprays should be increased for than once in a day. If the problem is a sweat rash, then the use of talcum powder in between the thighs should be made more frequent on hot or humid days. The person suffering from obesity is more prone to develop rash due to the increment of friction along the folds of the skin. Reducing weight will also help a lot in getting rid of the rash.
