The X-ray is widely used for diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases or abnormalities. They are also widely used for determining any bone deformities and fractures. X-rays can also be used for detection of lung diseases like the pneumonia. X-rays are also used for detecting complicated heart abnormalities that can lead to conditions of heart failure. They also help in tracking the diseases of the gastro-intestinal tract.

The X-ray can be used very easily as well as effectively. This is a very non-invasive procedure. The part of the body that needs to be studied is exposed to the X-ray. The X-ray machine emits gamma rays. Although, this procedure is safe as it is performed under controlled conditions, side effects are possible. Side effects of x-rays also include fatigue as well as dizziness.

The X-ray effects are usually minimal, but prolong and over-exposure to X-rays can have side effects by damaging the healthy tissues in our body. Prolong and frequent use of X-rays can result in irregularities in the person’s body like the growth of a tumor, pleural effusion and result in lymph node. Cancer is one of the predominant side effects of x-rays.

Therefore, it is very necessary to take proper precautions when taking an X-ray. All the party parts that are not to be examined need to be fully covered with apron to avoid exposure to the X-rays. Organs need special protection from the X-rays, as they are extra sensitive. Always ensure that you are exposed to the X-rays for a prolong time; consult the doctor, in case the person is pregnant, because this lethal type of radiation can also cause damage to the fetus that lies in the womb.

    I have been x rayed for six times searching for tuborclosis and pneumonia and even to date have never been cured. What type of effect should I expect?
