Tuberculosis is amongst the most dangerous disease due to which about 2 million people die every year and around 6 million people develops tuberculosis (TB). According to a survey, every second at least two people are being infected by TB across the world. This curable disease can get cured under strict medical supervision with proper treatment. The world health organization has estimated that around one third of the population is currently affected by this deadly disease and if left untreated and that this number may increase drastically in future.
Tuberculosis is contagious disease and can spread through air if an infected person coughs, spits or sneezes frequently. This disease can affect your lung directly, due to which lung swells painfully making breathing uneasy. As Tuberculosis infects lungs directly, it is also known as Pulmonary TB, which is usual form of Tuberculosis. However, not every person carrying Tuberculosis germs is infectious until the germ develops and spread across the body. Once, TB germs have infected lungs they can spread easily all over body infecting other body parts. This Tuberculosis is known as extra-pulmonary Tuberculosis. In extreme stage, nervous system gets affected leaving your body restless. As disease progress, different body organs begin to fail and finally all body function comes to a halt in last stage. In healthy person, immunity power controls these germs even after that person become infected. However, if that person becomes weak over a period and if immune power loses control then these germs become active. On an average, 5-10% people become infectious after a period of life.
Doctor advises everyone who coughs seriously to go for TB test to confirm the disease. Active pulmonary tuberculosis suspecting can be identified easily on your own. You have to keep strict watch on your cough; if it stands more than one month then it is better to go for TB test immediately. If you have hard coughing and you observe bloody or discolored sputum, then run to your family doctor immediately for further advices regarding tuberculosis. Constant weight loss, regular mild fever, and continuous fatigue are suspected symptoms for Tuberculosis. Observing any of them one should undergo tuberculosis tests immediately. If you face night sweating frequently and you feel pains while coughing or sneezing then you have to see your doctor soon as these can be symptoms for tuberculosis.
Though Tuberculosis is world most infectious disease, it is easily curable using simple regular medicinal timetable.
