X-ray tomography is used to examine architecture of hybrid cells that can be present in our body. X-ray tomography has involved many other branches of science such as chemical and biology. This technology is a primary research area to develop soft-X-ray tomography. X-ray tomography has many advantages over other imaging techniques, which will give insight to existing imaging methods. Soft X-ray microscopes use z-ray tomography techniques. This technique uses advance light source for examination. These microscopes are helpful in several biological and biomedical applications.

X-ray tomography is a technique that gives three-dimensional images from two-dimensional projections from different angles. This method involves phase contrast or absorption contrast imaging. Synchrotron X-rays can be tuned to get various contrast images. This technique has given significant contribution for development for X-rays.

In past X-rays tomography required sophisticated and complex instruments.

This technique can produce high intensity, monochromatic, highly coherent radiation. High-energy rays can go through thicker materials; this is a useful tool to examine internal structure of material. High quality and monochromatic light is useful to enhance the image quality of X-rays.

X-ray tomography has many scientific applications in material science, engineering and bio-medical fields etc. It also helpful to get internal structures of materials such as metals foams, bone etc.X-ray tomography is helpful to determine size and shape of cracks. This technique is also used to determine missing components of aircrafts, it is important to avoid any unexpected failures etc. Other application of X-ray tomography many include archaeology to study old architectures.

X-ray tomography has significantly contributed for material science. Material science deals with materials. This branch is used to determine some key aspects of materials and their properties. Since most materials are opaque, so it was difficult to know behavior of material. X-ray tomography is used to know about microscopic and deformation mechanism of materials.

This technique is widely used in medicine, which used to give three-dimensional numerical images. This technique has helped to investigate micro-heterogeneous structure of materials such as aluminum alloys; titanium complex structures etc
