X-rays are similar to radio-magnetic radiations; they can be used to produce energized particles known as photons. There are two processes involved in producing X rays; one process is called bremsstrahlung and another process called K-shell emission. These two processes can occur in heavy atoms like tungsten. X-rays are used in medical imaging to create three-dimensional pictures of the inner human body

X-ray machine can produce X-rays. X-ray machine contains a tube inside, which is used to produce high-energy electrons at the target.

X-rays were first identified and documented in 1895 by a German scientist-Wilhelm Conrad. He found x-rays in a scientific experiment

It has been found from the experiments that, as wavelength of X-rays and the energy emitted by X-rays is proportional. X-rays have smaller wavelengths and therefore they have high energy than ultraviolet rays. It has been found from the experiment that x-rays have very small wavelengths it is because X-rays acts like a particle wave. X-rays detectors are used to collect actual photons of x-ray light, which is very different from radio waves.

One important characteristic of X-rays is that it cannot be detected by human eyes.

Production of x-rays involves bombarding on a metal piece from x-rays tube with high speed of electrons, which have been accelerated by hundreds of kilovolts on the metal target. The bombarded electrons can eject electrons from inner shells; this vacant place can be filled by higher-level electrons. The production of electrons is defined by difference between lower and higher energy levels of electrons.

Characteristics of x-rays are defined from Bohr model. There is another measurement called Moseley measurement, which is used to measure frequencies of x-rays at fraction of level.

X-rays is one of the wonderful discoveries of 19th century. X-rays can be very useful for humans such as, through x-rays it is much easier and safer to look a broken bone.

If X-rays are used for long time then it can develop some sickness in human such as skin infection. X-rays is still s safer option. X-ray machines are used for security and scientific research; these machines are still one of the most useful inventions of all time.
